Admission Qualifications

Both universities recommend outstanding students to study in the dual degree program.

Registration

Students shall pay the necessary tuition fees to NTOU for at least 4 semesters. During the study period, the student must maintain valid enrollment status in both USTL and NTOU.

Residency Requirements

In NTOU, residency requirement is 4 semesters or more. In USTL, residency should not be less than a cumulative period of 12 months during the study period.

The program requires that NTOU students spend the first year at NTOU and the second year at AIT; AIT students spend the first year at AIT and the second year at NTOU.

Graduation Qualifications

1. Students must complete a combined total of 18 credits or more in the 2 universities (thesis not included.)2. Thesis should be written in English, and in principle, the oral examination shall be held in NTOU.

1. Students must take 24 credits (thesis not included) at each university and the home/host institution will accept the transfer of credits earned at host/home institution.

2. Thesis should be written in English. The oral examination will be held at the student’s home institution or at the host institution or two times at home and host institutions.

3Registration Information

 

  • Procedure

Students need to follow the steps below to complete the registration procedures:

Step 1: Health Examination (Division of Health Services)

ü          Please fill out the NTOU Medical Record in advance and stick a photo on it

ü          Finish the payment of the medical examination

ü          Undertake medical examination

ü          Hand in NTOU Medical Record form

Step 2: Student Affairs (Division of International Affairs)

ü          Hand in International Student Information Form

 Step 3: Payment of Fees (Division of Cashier)

ü          The Division of Cashier will check the receipts of tuition, dorm and medical insurance.

ü          Students who have not finished the payment should make the payment at the Division of Cashier.

Step 4: Registration (Division of Registration and Curriculum)

ü          Verification of passport and documents which prove the educational background

ü          Check whether the students turn in the Student Record Form or not

ü          Hand in Form of Registration Procedures for Newly-admitted International Students

5Graduation Procedure

 

  • Undergraduate students

Please complete the steps listed below and apply for graduation online.

1.      Upload the graduation photo, fill in the contact information, and complete the on-line Alumni Questionnaire. (International students need not finish the Questionnaire.)

2.      Return all items borrowed from the department and finish departmental matters.

3.      Return all books checked out from the library and pay the fine for overdue books.

4.      Return Academic Dress to Division of Property Management.

5.      Students who hold student cards with ATM functions should apply for cancellation of ATM functions first and then go to the First Bank window (Division of Cashier) to apply for bank cards.

Students who complete the steps listed above and are qualified to graduate from the university should go to the Division of Registration and Curriculum with student cards to claim the diploma.

·          Master’s degree students

Please follow the steps listed below to complete the graduation procedure. Students should apply for graduation online and by the Form of Graduation Procedure (Graduate Students).

1. Upload the graduation photo, fill in the contact information, and complete the on-line Alumni Questionnaire. (International students need not finish the Questionnaire.)

2. The Form of Graduation Procedure (Graduate Students) should be signed by the thesis advisor. Go to the departmental office to return all items borrowed from the department, check if the thesis has been catalogued and submit the thesis.

3. Go to the library to return all checked out books, pay the fine for overdue books and turn in two copies of the thesis (The University’s Letter of Authorization to Access to the Thesis/Dissertation with your signature should be enclosed.)

4. Return academic dress to the Division of Property Management.

5. Students who hold student cards with ATM functions should apply for cancellation of ATM functions first and then go to the First Bank window (Division of Cashier) to apply for bank cards. 

 

 Students who complete the steps listed above and are qualified to graduate from the university should go to the Division of Registration and Curriculum with student cards, one original copy of the thesis (the thesis should be enclosed with original copies of the Letter of Authorization to the National Central Library and to NTOU Library and an original copy of Master’s (or Doctoral) Thesis/Dissertation Certification by Oral Defense Committee) and the Form of Graduation Procedure (Graduate Students) in order to claim the diploma.

·         Ph.D degree students

Please follow the steps listed below to complete the graduation procedure. Students should apply for graduation online and by the Form of Graduation Procedure (Graduate Students).

1.      Upload the graduation photo, fill in the contact information, and complete the on-line Alumni Questionnaire. (International students need not finish the Questionnaire.)

2.      The Form of Graduation Procedure (Graduate Students) should be signed by the dissertation advisor. Go to the departmental office to return all items borrowed from the department, check if the dissertation has been catalogued and submit the dissertation.

3.      Go to the library to return all checked out books, pay the fine for overdue books and turn in two copies of the dissertation.

4.      Return academic dress to the Division of Property Management.
